Through the heart: pay heart as an embodiment of sincerity

Abstract

Engine movements raise the accessibility associated with the idea content and processes with that they typically co-occur. Both perceived in others and shown in one’s own behavior in two studies, we demonstrate that putting a hand on one’s heart is associated with honesty. Target individuals photographed whenever doing this gesture appeared more trustworthy as compared to targets that are same with both of your hands down (research 1). Individuals whom put their hand on the hearts had been more prepared to acknowledge their not enough knowledge (research 2), in comparison to when they performed a gesture that is neutral.
